New York’s Green Heart

Armed with a surprisingly good iced coffee from Starbucks, we amble into Central Park’s green heart to shake off the cabin fever of a 19-hour flight, easing ourselves in to the heat and humidity.

It’s significantly cooler in the shaded park, and is remarkable to think I’m situated in one of the most densely populated megacities in the world. At times I barely notice another person or building. Elsewhere, large groups of marathon-runner-type-bodies, effortlessly stride along its wide concrete arteries, barely making a sound and inspiring us into the nearest Nike store - almost.
