Hi! I’m Valeska.

As a part-time secondary teacher, I am particularly obsessed with photography and travel, reading, and good design of all kinds. There are things about teaching that I still enjoy too.

My family and I have driven, flown, walked, and paddled around many corners of this and other countries but there’s much more to see, do, photograph.

I live on a farm on Northern Yorke Peninsula overlooking the Hummocks ranges, two hours north of Adelaide with my husband and (very) demanding golden retriever, Mabel. Our two children are much less demanding and live and work in Adelaide at the moment, but I’m sure they will be drawn closer to home in time.

I am (technically) a qualified travel agent and graphic designer. For fun over the years, I have completed a couple of children's book writing courses too because I enjoy learning and one day …. You could potentially call me a professional student, but if there’s one thing aging provides, it’s a gently pressing timeline and growing sense of need, for me at least, to start using the things I’ve learned.

And so here we are. This is me sharing some of what I’ve learned and love.

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
